Treasure the Family

Posted on 14. Feb, 2012 by in News

The treasure of family time has diminished greatly with all the opportunities to instantly connect to the world-wide web. We are all walking around with our heads in the “cloud”. Social Media have stolen the importance of spending time as a family together. Parents have succumbed by providing their children with smart phones, iPads, iPhones, etc. Let us take time to have face time with each other. No! Not the iPad face time, but in person, sitting across from each other and chatting, having a cup of tea or coffee. Let us have real face time.

The internet is a beautiful thing that allows us to stay connected with family and friends, conduct business, find jobs and the list goes on. However, we need to be balance in our uses of the internet. Have a schedule as to when you will check emails (do people still do that?), tweet, post on facebook. Why not pick a day to be internet free and take a walk on Forbidden Drive in Wissahickon Park, go for a bike ride, or just go outside. Remember if you eat the whole delicious chocolate cake it may make you sick…hint, hint.
